Caine Lobb took a thrilling win from Andrew Waite at the annual one hour enduro meeting held at Manfeild Park in May.
Lobb took the victory by the narrowest of margins after the full 60 minutes had elapsed - no less than 41 laps were completed in that time - with Lobb edging out Sabre team mate Andrew Waite by a mere 8 hundredths of a second!
The Sabre team once again proved unbeatable in the fuel stop department - the average stop being around 4 seconds - to take a clean sweep of the top four placings.
Lobb and Waite were followed home by team mates Simon Evans (rookie) and Jamie McNee. Both Evans and McNee had put in consistent times throughout the one hour and both finished within 40 seconds of the leaders.
Ian Foster was the first non-Sabre finisher - and the last runner on the lead lap. Foster's quickest lap time was the third quickest of the race - but he could not compete with the pit stop efficiency shown by the Sabre team and suffered a big time penalty during a bungled - and unexpected - pit-stop.
The first of the lapped cars was Janet Pudney, followed by Ryan Bonner, Daniel Larsen, Ben Dallas (rookie) and Peter Thorne. Each of these driver completed 40 laps.
Thorne had started two laps down on the field as he was driving Selby Allison's car with an experimental 1600cc engine. His laps times were generally 3-4 seconds quicker than the rest of the field, but he was not able to make the time difference up over the distance and thus finished one lap down.
Darren Henderson had his first taste of Formula First in the ex-George Houghton Sabre.
Those finishing on 39 laps were David Ruthven, Darren Henderson (rookie) and Graeme Rundle (who had spent much of the race driving with failing brakes).
Rounding out the field were Dom Kalasih (38 laps), Suthep Kalasih (37 laps) and Dave Scammell (36 laps).
*David Ruthven ran Cliff Field's in-car camera system throughout the race, and a few clips from the footage will be added to the site over the next week or so.
