Labour weekend 2011 saw the return to the intense action of Weldwell NZ Formula First racing at Taupo Motorsport Park. Although we were 3 hours further north, the race action was a mirror image of round 1, with Higham, Hellier, George and rookie Rowan Shepherd leading the field.
With pole position and victories in races one and three, the Juiced Magazine machine of Matt Higham would end the weekend tied second for the round, with race two winner of Ryan Hellier.
But the round win would go the consistent pace of Kyle George. With two seconds and a third, it was enough to claw a five point advantage on his championship rivals.
With November 13 only a mater of weeks away, where the class heads to Hampton DownsMotorsport Park for the third round of the Weldwell NZ Formula First championship, the teams will be aiming to fine tune their machines in preparation for this one day extravaganza of motorsport.
